This is the DAO Leader nomination thread for the next two Phonon DAO governance terms (May 2022 - June 2023). Per our approved governance structure, this thread will stay open for five days to allow people to nominate themselves. Non-nominees may provide feedback or ask questions of the nominees.
After five days, this post will close, and a new Discourse thread will be posted allowing DAO members to vote on their preferred candidate(s), with the number of votes depends on the number of open positions*. After the Discourse poll closes, the chosen candidate(s) will be moved to Snapshot for formal approval.
*At this time, we are electing 1 DAO Leader.
As a reminder, nominees need to at least respond to these prompts:

Qualifications - What will you bring to the DAO as a DAO Leader?
Minimum accepted compensation

Other experience, perspectives and insights that would enable the individual to satisfactorily serve as DAO Leader
I would like to nominate Justin Leroux for the role of DAO Leader. As a group we’ve discussed this in several meetings and I believe we all believe that he would be great for this role.
Discord Handle Justin Leroux | GridPlus#7146
Summary Experience in DeFi/DAOs Helped create PhononDAO and shape it into what it has become.
Reason for applying Justin has great understanding of Phonon Network and is able to talk to both engineers and the layperson about how Phonon Network works and the benefits of it.
Involvement thus far in the Phonon DAO He helped create it and participates in the majority of the weekly meetings. He has helped to guide the collaboration between Grid+ and PhononDAO and continues to help grow PhononDAO.
Qualifications - What will you bring to the DAO as a DAO Leader? He has the business experience that we need to get to market, as well as the professionalism to deal with outside vendors and represent the DAO in negotiations.
Minimum accepted compensation (I’ll let him answer this one)
Confirmation that the applicant can commit the time required for the position; Other projects they are working on; time they can commit to the position weekly (Once again, I’ll let him answer this one)
Other experience, perspectives and insights that would enable the individual to satisfactorily serve as DAO Leader Has operated as Grid+'s COO and has now become the CEO of Grid+. Has a great pool of resources in the crypto space that can help the DAO accomplish our needs.
Thanks, Tuesdays! I agree that Justin would make a phenomenal DAO Leader. If Justin is willing, we’ll leave this thread open until A) Justin replies to fill in the blanks you left for him; or B) another candidate nominates themselves. The goal is to not close this thread until we have at least one viable candidate.
Did in fact express my support towards Justin being the DAO leader already. This post is therefore merely representative of my doing such in writing:
I’d also nominate Justin Leroux (aka Rock Lobster.) for the DAO leader Position.
That being said; – in order for that to happen a lot of us will have to step up to the ocassion and coordinate accordingly so that we can alleviate some of the pressure off his back. (Something we have indeed currently managed to sustain and achieve regardless of whichever situation/obstacle that has emerged).
Special thanks to all the members who have been actively participating in creating a healthy and helping environemnt:
